Giant kiwi

Like other small towns, Eketāhuna has rebranded itself to attract tourists and curb its decline. In 2006 it adopted the slogan ‘Eketāhuna Kiwi Country’. To grab attention, a 6.5-metre-high kiwi has been built at the information centre. A second giant kiwi stands nearby.
