Kōrero: Life in fresh water

Shag

While shags are primarily coastal and estuarine birds, they also venture inland along rivers. They feed by diving and catching small fish. This one is waiting for flood waters to drop in the Waitawheta Stream in the Karangahake Gorge near Waihī.
