Korean shops, Auckland, 2004

The script of the Korean language is distinctive and easily discernible from Chinese characters – even to those who can read neither. These shops in Browns Bay display their names in both Korean and English. Korean-language signage has become increasingly common on Auckland’s North Shore, where many Koreans own their own businesses.
