Going underground

A pair of black-water rafters pose in an underground stream as they prepare themselves for floating through a subterranean stream in rubber inner tubes at Waitomo Caves. Black-water rafting began in Ruakuri Cave in Waitomo in 1987 and has proved popular with adventurous tourists.
