Outings for Catholics

Image
Outings for Catholics

Photographed in 2001, Sister Bonoit (middle) and two other Vietnamese women stroll on Long Bay beach on Auckland’s North Shore. Sister Bonoit organised picnics for students from a Vietnamese Catholic youth group to introduce them to the New Zealand way of life. In the 2000s Vietnamese arrivals were mainly students and those coming under family reunification provisions.
