<em>Blue smoke</em>

Winner of the New Zealand Post Book of the Year award in 2011, Chris Bourke's Blue smoke: the lost dawn of New Zealand popular music 1918–1964 drew on extensive research to bring to life a fascinating but forgotten aspect of New Zealand's cultural life. At the same time it chronicled a period of dramatic social change.
