This is the cover of the revised 1967 edition of Conrad Bollinger's searing attack on the alcohol laws and the liquor industry, Grog's own country.When it was first published, in 1959, Bollinger had been working for a trade union, the Public Service Association. He was also active in many left-wing movements. Later he became a lecturer in English at Victoria University of Wellington which provided him, like other critics, with a secure basis from which to criticise social norms.
