The female descendants of three men who were involved in the purchase of Wellington by the New Zealand Company posed for a photograph at the Centennial Exhibition in 1940. They are from left Victoria Amohau Bennett (descendant of Te Puni-kokopu), Rīpeka Love (descendant of both Te Puni and Te Wharepōuri) and Lilian Wakefield (descendant of Edward Gibbon Wakefield).
