Cargo routes to New Zealand

Many invasive marine species have been introduced from regions along these common trading routes. Highest risk areas have similar temperate conditions to New Zealand, such as Europe and the Mediterranean, Japan and the east coast of the United States. Southern Australian ports such as Melbourne and Hobart are a greater risk than more northern ones.
