Kōrero: Washing, cleaning and personal hygiene

1969 health reader

Simple textbooks called health readers were issued to schoolchildren to educate them about cleanliness. This 1969 health reader was aimed at primary-school children and uses simple language and basic illustrations to inculcate regular hand-washing. Writing in the first person ('I have two hands...') would have made young readers identify more closely with the messages.
