This graph shows the percentage of the New Zealand population who claimed adherence to the Presbyterian denomination at each census. The proportion remained relatively stable at around 25% until the 1960s, after which it fell dramatically. The growing secularisation of society and the rise of new leisure activities such as television were among the reasons for the decline.
