These graphs compare New Zealand's rates of suicide with those in countries in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Males from New Zealand had the 16th highest suicide rate among countries in the OECD. Females from New Zealand had the fifth highest suicide rates, behind the Republic of Korea, Japan, Belgium and Finland. Female youth from New Zealand had the highest rates of suicide among OECD countries, and male youth the fifth highest rates.
