This graph shows the number of cultural events in the main centres (defined as Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin) in 2008. In total 75% of the cultural activities took place in the five main centres, although they were home to only 52% of the New Zealand population, showing that cultural events are predominantly held in urban locations.
