Newman Brothers grew into a large transport business. This 1951 brochure advertises the attractions of Nelson’s Kaiteriteri beach, to which Newmans coach tours provided transport over the summer of 1951–52. Even those with little spare cash managed to travel to beaches such as Tāhunanui and Kaiteriteri for holidays and long weekends. In 2020 the name lived on as Newmans Coach Lines, part of the InterCity Group.
