Approval process for fertility treatment

Approval process for fertility treatment

Under the Human Assisted Reproduction Act 2004, if a fertility treatment is not on a list of established procedures, clinics must gain approval from the Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ECART) before it can proceed. If the treatment has been prohibited, then the clinic cannot offer it. ECART meets around six times a year.
