Youthline

Youthline provides telephone counselling services for people aged under 30. The service began in 1970, and it became especially valuable from the mid-1980s as the number of younger people in New Zealand who attempted suicide rose. In the 2000s another excellent telephone and internet service aimed at young people suffering from depression was The Lowdown (www.thelowdown.co.nz).
