Kōrero: Large companies

This pamphlet from the Kauri Timber Company advertises the transformation of forests of kauri from Maoriland into Auckland suburban bungalows. The Kauri Timber Company was the largest of the colonially floated companies of the 1880s. It grew out of many existing firms that had prospered by creating kit-set components for villas, utilising imported woodworking machinery.
