Napier Carnival poster

This poster advertises ‘very low train fares’ to Napier in January 1933, barely two years after the catastrophic Hawke’s Bay earthquake. Many New Zealanders could not afford extended holidays and made do with one- or two-day excursions. Those offered by the railways were very popular.
