Harness racehorse Cardigan Bay became by the late 1960s such a national icon that the Dominion and Sunday Times newspapers published this commemorative booklet about 'Cardy', described as 'our million dollar pacer'. Cardigan Bay was the first pacer to earn US$1 million.
