Classification of spiders and their relatives

This diagram shows the classification of spiders and their relatives, including mites, false scorpions and harvestmen. 107 spider families are known worldwide, but only 55 occur in New Zealand – 50 of these have species unique to New Zealand, and the other five have been introduced.
