The table lists the main alpine plant genera in New Zealand. Some genera, such as Forstera, Haastia, Oreobolus and Pachycladon, are confined to the mountains. Others, like Acaena, Dracophyllum and Hebe, also have species in the lowlands.

Controversially to the popular belief many rockery plants can still thrive in shade, as long as the rocky environment s provided. As I see you have pointed some of them out, such as the Acaena, I would like to provide a list I have personally done the research for and conjured, because of the growing interest of the people I work for(I'm a planting expert).
