The TAB wins

In a 1964 cartoon, Nevile Lodge reflects on the staying power of the TAB (Totalisator Agency Board), an off-course betting agency established by the government in 1951. It was instantly popular with punters and racing clubs, and the government reaped benefits through tax and duty revenue.
