Meat works closures

Meat works closures

Many meat-processing works closed down from the 1980s for a variety of reasons including the need for expensive upgrading to meet new hygiene requirements and a lack of stock for killing. This 2008 cartoon by Alistair Nisbet likens the fate of the former meat workers to that of the carcasses they previously worked with on the chain.
