‘Trawlermen’ sculpture, Napier

This sculpture by Alan Strathern is dedicated to commercial fishermen. It depicts two deckhands in waterproof clothing hauling on a net. The big risk for fishermen is that they may go overboard, while other hazards are posed by heavy nets, ropes and machinery. The sculpture was unveiled in 1978 on the Marine Parade foreshore in Napier.
