Kōrero: Higgs, Avis Winifred

'Rushcutters Bay', c.1944

An abstract collage of shops combining industrial buildings, vehicles, fences, and other shapes, in blue ink on a white background.

Women’s wartime experiences provided Avis Higgs with the inspiration for this textile design, which was named after the Sydney district where Silk & Textile Printers Ltd was based.
