Hōtere sketch for Baxter's The temptations of Oedipus

James K. Baxter extensively referenced classical mythology in his poetry and wrote two plays set in ancient Greece, The temptations of Oedipus  and The sore-footed man. Artist Ralph Hōtere did a series of watercolour set designs for The temptations of Oedipus. This one includes a list of characters: Oedipus, Antigone, 1st citizen, 2nd citizen, 1st woman, 2nd woman, Theseus, Captain, Ismene and Polyneices.
