Pupils at Rugby School in Warwickshire, England, play a form of football. The school provided an education to aspiring gentlemen and members of the affluent urban middle class. There, folk football was given structure and a set of established rules as a way of bringing order and discipline to the pupils' recreation and instilling manly character.
