Miner’s right, 1863

Miner’s right, 1863

Miners had to get a licence – a ‘right’ – from the authorities. This miner’s right was issued to William Rocheford on 14 February 1863. Valid for a year, it gave him the right to mine on the Mt Benger field (the Roxburgh district).
