In this 1883 illustration, bagpipers in Scottish dress parade along Dunedin’s Princes Street en route to the New Year’s Day Highland games at the Caledonian Ground, south of the city. The premises of local drapers and importers Brown, Ewing & Co. can be seen on the left.
