Wiremu Pere

Wiremu Pere, known as Wī Pere, of Te Aitanga-a-Māhaki and Rongowhakaata, was prominent in Māori affairs and land matters in Poverty Bay and nationally. He is shown here in later life, with his tokotoko (carved walking stick).
