Rowing on Lake Karapiro

Rowing on Lake Karapiro

Hamilton Boys’ High School rowers follow tradition and throw Matt Cameron, their cox, into Lake Karapiro after winning the Maadi Cup in 2007. This event is the national rowing championship competition for secondary schools, and is one of many national and international rowing competitions held on Lake Karapiro. The Rowing New Zealand High Performance Centre, which includes a huge gymnasium, function rooms, storage and other facilities, was completed in 2009 in time for the 2010 World Rowing Championships.
