Story: Yoga, Pilates and other exercise systems

Bikram yoga, Dunedin

Bikram yoga, or 'hot yoga', was developed in the 1970s in Calcutta, India, by Bikram Choudhury. It is performed in a room heated to 40°C, supposedly to imitate the Calcutta climate. In this video clip Donna Wikio, the owner of Dunedin Bikram Yoga, explains the system, and one of her students describes its benefits.
