Gallagher Great Race

In 2009 men’s rowing teams from University of Oxford and University of Waikato competed in the Gallagher Great Race, with Waikato winning. The race, which takes place on a stretch of the Waikato River through Hamilton, has been an annual event since 2002, giving Waikato University eights an opportunity to compete against university crews from other countries.
