Kororipo pā today

Kororipo pā today

One of the impressive historic sights of Kerikeri is Kororipo . Although only its earth trenches and walls remain, panels show how it may have have looked when it was fortified in the 1770s. In the 1820s Ngāpuhi chief Hongi Hika mustered canoes and warriors there before setting out on musket raids against tribes in other parts of the North Island.
