Story: Hauraki tribes

Bean Rock

Bean Rock

Bean Rock lies offshore from Bastion Point in Auckland. It is also known as Te Toka-o-Kapetaua (Kapetaua’s Rock), to mark Tarakumukumu’s abandonment of his brother-in-law, Kapetaua, on the rock. Now it is marked by a beacon, visible to the left of this photograph.
