
After the war imperial sentiments were strong and many people in Britain believed that the empire would be served if young men moved from the overcrowded cities of Britain to the healthy colonies. A number of schemes were established to assist this flow. One such scheme was established by the Salvation Army. Here young men who migrated under that scheme celebrate their arrival in New Zealand.
