
War intensified popular prejudices in New Zealand. This is an extract from an act which was passed in 1919 to restrict the immigration of ‘aliens’. The Undesirable Immigrants Exclusion Act tried to exclude Germans, Austrians and ‘disaffected’ or ‘disloyal’ people from entering New Zealand.
