Boxing match, Authie, France, 1918

A large crowd watches a boxing match during the New Zealand Divisional Sports held at Authie, France, in June 1918. In addition to impromptu sporting events for entertainment, inter-unit and divisional sports allowed the best athletes from different units to compete. For both participants and spectators these tournaments were a welcome break from the routine of war service.
