Taylor Pass road, 1920s

Taylor Pass road, 1920s

Two horse-drawn wagons cross the Vinegar Point ford on the Wairau side of Taylor Pass in the 1920s. The winding route across the pass, between the Wairau and Awatere valleys, was frequently used until the 1930s, when what is now State Highway 1 opened between Seddon and Blenheim.
