Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh

In 1953–54 Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh visited New Zealand. In her youth Elizabeth had been a Guide and Sea Ranger and the patron of Commonwealth Guiding. While no specific events were organised, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Cubs, Scouts and their leaders lined the routes of royal parades wearing their uniforms. Here, at the Auckland Domain, they have removed their scarves and are waving them.
