Celebrating in national costume

Photographed in 1990, Finns Hellevi Pärssinen-Walrond (left), Aino Burgess, a Norwegian woman and Liisä Tate-Manning take part in an event commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Treaty of Waitangi. The celebrations were hosted by the Dunedin Scandinavian Club and attended by the mayor, various consuls and ambassadors and local Māori elders. The women are wearing traditional dresses of Finland and Norway.
