Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Hamilton East

The significant Irish population in Hamilton East from the 1860s led to the establishment of Roman Catholic institutions there, including a church, convent and girls’ school. This modern cathedral was dedicated in 1980 and refurbished in 2008.
