Thoroughbred horses graze in a lush paddock at Wentworth Grange stud farm, near Cambridge. From the 1950s the number of Waikato horse studs began to increase, and they produced some notable equine champions. Their success was sometimes attributed to the quality of Waikato’s pastures.
