Hawke’s Bay racing

Hawke’s Bay racing

Horse sports are popular in Hawke’s Bay. The region’s major racecourse is the Hawke’s Bay Racing Centre in Hastings. The annual Spring Carnival, a series of events held between August and October, is the most important fixture on the local racing calendar. The Hawke’s Bay Gold Cup, raced in the autumn, has been contested since 1860.
