Strawberries for the Auckland market

Strawberries for the Auckland market

Northcote strawberries are packed for the Auckland market in the early 1900s. They would be taken in boxes by ferry to the Auckland wharves, and then carried to the city auction market at the top of Queen Street – though some sellers sold to small shops along the way.
