Although the British were the most favoured immigrants in the 1950s and 1960s, there were some who arrived from other parts of Europe, including a number from Greece. Here five Greek women get straight to work in the Wellington hospital laundry a day after arriving. They are (from left) Adriane Solanaki, Erene Kalogeraki, Sofia Bobolaki, Margarita Tsosela, and Maria Kiriakaki.
