Carts loaded with wool bales, Kurīpāpango, 1910

These wool bales, outside the Kurīpāpango hotel In 1910, are almost certainly headed for Napier, 80 kilometres away on the coast. By this time, many stations in inland Pātea were sending their bales south on the main trunk railway, which had reached Taihape in 1904.
