Lancaster Park spectacle, 1890

The Pioneer Bicycle Club promoted track racing events, among other things. This is the cover of the programme for the Interprovincial Bicycle Races at Lancaster Park in Christchurch on Boxing Day in 1890. It featured 18 events, including a two-mile championship race, a separate Māori race, and even a toy tricycle race. Total prizes amounted to £100. Music was provided at intervals.
