New Zealanders have long been among the world's highest consumers of dairy products, particularly butter. However, domestic consumption has dropped dramatically since the 1960s, fuelled in recent times by concerns about the links between saturated fat consumption and high cholesterol levels. The buttery tones and rural setting of this Anchor poster produced in 1936 present a completely wholesome, healthy image of this staple dairy product.
