Children with Cabbage Patch Kids, 1985

Children pose with a newly arrived batch of Cabbage Patch Kids, in August 1985. These dolls, which originated in the United States, were a phenomenon of the 1980s, providing a contrast to the glamour of the Barbie doll. Their price tag reflected the growing affluence of the decade – in 1985 Cabbage Patch Kids retailed at $90 each.
